Do The Work

Do The Work

Inevitably, at the end of a listing presentation, the question arises from the Seller whether to do some work or just sell the home as is. My answer is always unequivocally to DO THE WORK. The home gains more attention and thus more interested buyers that translate into competitive bids and will sell more quickly for a higher price. DO THE WORK.

What Do Millennials Want?

What Do Millennials Want?

Generation Y is the largest cohort in history. It is defined as a group that was born between 1981 and 1996 and is approximately 90 million members strong and makes up 38% of the home buying public as of July 2019. They will soon outnumber Baby Boomers. Despite their high levels of student debt and the battering they took in the financial crisis, millennials want to be home owners and see home ownership as more affordable than renting especially now that interest rates are so low and will likely remain low for quite some time. They

Listening and Learning

Listening and Learning

I have so much more to learn from recent events. What can I do? It starts here in my home with my family. I plan to do more listening and dig deeper still and listen some more, more learning, volunteering, donating, voting locally and nationally and be part of the change. Change is uncomfortable but discomfort with awareness is where positive change can happen.

Don't Try This at Home

Don't Try This at Home

How have you been spending your SIP time? I decided to take a DIY attitude and try my hand at a few projects I would normally have hired someone else to handle. They included cutting my son’s hair, coloring my own hair, recaulking around the shower, cleaning the dryer vent duct, and cutting the dry grass on the hillside. I mean, how hard can it be?

Home is Where the Heart Is

Home is Where the Heart Is

HOME ~ our safe harbor, sanctuary, place of rest and relaxation. Now it’s also the place where we work, attend school, go to the gym, worship and virtually socialize with our friends and family. It has become the center of our lives, our everyplace. The place we lay our heads at night and cook our meals plays so many other roles. How will we look at our abodes once we are allowed to move freely about. What will we want our homes to look like in the future?

Not Business As Usual

Not Business As Usual

It’s been an interesting time. Many of us have anxiety because of the uncertainty out there. One thing I know is that we do not have any control over this and it will change. My choice is to be with what is; take this time to slow down, notice and be present! Notice my garden in bloom, bake way too many cookies and eat them, start a puzzle, make some art, have lengthy conversations with my family, call friends and clients, and write and send letters and notes on stationary.

Coffee, Cafés & Connections

Coffee, Cafés & Connections

Living in Marin is life writ small. Many of us flock here for the natural beauty and for the village-like towns. Part of the allure can be the immediate sense of connection that is fostered in these small communities. People do seem to come together whether it’s bound by children, schools, cultural institutions, places of worship or sports and other activities. The town square can be a connection point and increasingly, an important connection point is the coffee spot. Marin is full of them. Each with their own flavor and attracting their own tribe or denizens. Here are a few of my favorites spread across the county...

MOMS AND DADS. OUR UNSUNG HEROES

MOMS AND DADS. OUR UNSUNG HEROES

Moms and Dads are our unsung heroes. They kiss our boo boos and say it will be alright. They read us bedtime stories and correct our homework. They wire us money to pay our rent and may even allow us to move back in after college. Their parenting never stops. Let’s celebrate Moms and Dads by giving them a much needed day off. If they’re up for a fun activity, we’ve got you covered around the North Bay with some unique adventures.
